Growing up in the late 60's and 70's I am glad that Shirley Temple was still the Icon that she was thru the re-runs still airing at that time. She will always be in the ranks of the Great American's of her Generation who all were Ambassadors of Freedom ....Jesse Owens, Joe Louis and Bob Hope.

I grew up knowing that Shirley Temple Black was among the fine ones. My maternal grandmother, Marguerite Vincent Guzman (Rogers after 1944), was a professional musician and teacher at the Meglan Studio. She had fond memories of her students there, including Mrs. Black. Thanks for sharing her,

Shirley Temple was a one-of-a-kind gem. I grew up watching her wonderful, wholesome movies; she buoyed so many Americans' spirits during the Great Depression. For one so young to be able to sing, dance, & act as she did is amazing & also a testament to her loving parents. She will be forever missed.
