What a wonderful actress & person. I remember as a child in the 1960's coming home from church & watching her movies while mom made dinner. Her movies always bring me such joy. Her political work made me proud she was an American on our side. My prayers are with the family.

Shirley & I are of the same generation, & her films were the first ones I saw as a child. I paid the 10 cents show fare from my own money earned by delivering the daily newspaper in the little NC town in which I was reared. Shirley's entire life has been a positive influence in our world.
