I am the daughter of Depression-Era parents. Shirley Temple enriched their lives during a very hard time in our Nation's history. As a post-World War II child myself, I was introduced to Shirley through her films when they began to appear on television. She enriched my life too. Thank you, Shirley.

My mother and I were very sad to hear of the passing of Mrs. Temple Black. She was a huge influence on my mom, who endured rag curls, but loved the dresses her aunt made her duplicating each one Shirley wore in her movies. She was a great woman and will be missed.
